SHAME! Worst Bribery Scandal in Sri Lanka's Political History.....
- Sri Lankan politicians are well known worldover for corruption and
bribery. Only a few weeks ago, a Sri Lankan newspaper reported that a Swedish company
wishing to invest in a flour mill project, was asked to hand over a bribe of US$ 6 million
by the countrys investment chief, BOI chairman Thilan Wijesingha. According to the
allegations, US$ 2.5 million from the bribe was for Her Excellency the President Chandrika
Bandaranike Kumartunga, another US$ 2.5 million was for her close confidante, Thilan
himself and US$ 1 million was for the man who put together the deal. The allegations are
being investigated by the Bribery commission and the government handwriting experts have
verified that the handwriting on the note giving the US bank account number is that of
Thilan Wijesinghe. However, up until now, bribery was executed somewhat covertly and
associated with some sense of shame and guilt.
- Not any more: Each MP from the opposition, who would vote with the
government for the change of constitution has been publicly offered Rs 60 Million. Ten
Opposition MPs have been specially targeted by the government as potential candidates for
this public exposition of greed, corruption and desperation. The so called Constitutional
reforms would pave the way to bring the nations multiethnic nature to an end and
divide the small island into racially segregated enclaves divided on racial basis. The
largest enclave will be a mono-ethnic state called "Eelam" governed by the Tamil
Tigers who have proven to be the worlds most brutal terrorists. The Bill, if passed
with the help of the bribes, would also give President Chandrika dictatorial executive
powers and transfer the Prime Ministers powers also into the executive Presidency.
Once the bill is passed, there is nothing to stop the Tiger terrorists gaining power in
the then merged North and the East and escalate their ethnic cleansing pogroms into new
heights, yet unseen. In a country, where a poor office assistant would be hauled up before
the Bribery Commissioner if he is caught taking a bribe of Rs 10, the top legislatures are
being offered multi million Rupee bribes by the government and the executive with

cost of living and heroic soldiers in Sri Lanka are not provided with even very basic
facilities. This picture shows the accommodation facilities provided at Ranaviru Apparels
factory at Yakkala for the heroic soldiers who sacrificed their limbs at the war front.
- We were shocked to see this unfortunate situation, and immediately
donated Rs 1,220,321.40 to construct 3 new buildings for the Ranavirus
accommodation. The three buildings were opened on 20 March 2000, and now our heroes are
living in those buildings with some dignity.

systematic mass ethnic cleansing of Sinhalese and Muslims in North East within next 10
years before the referendum to be held in 10 years time ......
- The proposed bill provides for the creation of eight
semi-autonomous regional councils, one of which will be governed by minority Tamils for
five years without an election. The government is also proposing a key territorial
concession to the Tamils by temporarily uniting the Tamil-dominated northern province with
the multi-ethnic eastern provinces to form the country's largest regional council. The
united north-east regional council is to function for 10 years after which a referendum is
to be held to decide if the merger of the two provinces should continue.
Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) said it would mobilise supporters
to demonstrate before Parliament on Thursday demanding the Bill not be tabled in the
interests of the Sinhala people.
"I appeal to you (Kumaratunga) to refrain from presenting this bill
in parliament," leading monk Madihe Pannaseeha urged as he addressed the crowd.
President Chandrika Kumaratunga flew to the hill
country town of Kandy this morning by helicopter to meet the chief priests of the Asgiriya
and Malwatte order of monks whose representatives were present at the demonstration in
Maharagama. The two chief priests have been at the helm of the opposition to the draft
constitution and recently wrote to legislators asking them not to vote for the bill when
it presented in Parliament. They urged the government not to go ahead with the
proposed peace package and vowed to defeat the proposed legislation with mass agitation.
